Grade Nine English projects are advanced summative inspiring
Grade nine is not only the end of middle school but also of a chapter in student’s lives. As a result, projects are different. We seek to consolidate four years of learning into a few key projects that help students reflect on where they have been and look forward to where they are headed.
Midterm Project: Sustainable Farm Design
The first project is to research and design a sustainable farm. In groups, they will consider every aspect of it from the location, climate, and soil to the economic and environmental impact of its crops and structures and all with a view towards providing a sustainable approach to feed a world population of nine billion people by 2050. After planning is done, they will design and draw the farm as a schematic and prepare a detailed research report on their farm.
